OUR FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS

·        We believe that God - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit  - is the sovereign Lord over all the creation.  God alone is worthy or our complete trust and obedience.

·         We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and is our infallible authority in all areas of life and faith.

·        We believe that people find eternal life and a right relationship with God through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

·        We believe in the biblical foundation of the Reformed Faith as found in the Westminster Confession and Catechism and other such confessions.

OUR COVENANT WITH EACH OTHER

Confident that we have been led by the Holy Spirit, members of this church family covenant together to love, support and participate in the advancement of Christ’s Church in Sylva, NC and throughout the world.

In fulfilling this covenant , we commit:

  1. To pray with each other that the Lord will give us insight and wisdom to proclaim faithfully the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. To sustain and support each other  to the end that we are enabled to devote our time and energies to the work for which the Lord calls each of us.
  3. To contribute our time, talents and resources to the work of God’s church.
  4. To participate with each other in cultivating attitudes of loving concern for one another and for those in our community who have not yet professed faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  5. To study and support the biblically grounded work of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

ACCEPTANCE INTO MEMBERSHIP INVOLVES AN AFFIRMATIVE ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS:

  1. Do you acknowledge yourselves to be sinners in the sight of God, justly deserving his displeasure, and without hope save in his sovereign mercy?
