Jesus Christ is at the center of all church life at First Presbyterian Church of Sylva, North Carolina. Worship, teaching, service, fellowship, and evangelism grow out of our joyful response to what God the Father has done in sending His Son to be our Savior and Lord.  We seek to know, understand, and live under the authority of God’s Word believing scripture is to be learned and lived out in all areas of life, and it is the source of truth for our maturing walk with God.  We seek to demonstrate God’s love in our community by serving the hurting and needy and be a church home where people of all ages and backgrounds can “come as they are” and feel welcomed, develop deep and lasting friendships, and find a place to serve and grow spiritually.  True Christian community creates opportunities for people from all walks of life to serve, learn and grow together.
